Caroline was appointed Chief Executive in January 2016 and is responsible for the day to day management, growth and development of the Foundation. Caroline holds a master’s degree in Philanthropy, Social Investment and Grantmaking from Cass Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Communications. She has worked with ECF since 2004, latterly as Deputy Chief Executive.
Catherine is responsible for the day to day management of financial activity and is the main point of contact for our Investment Managers. She prepares for the annual audit, ECF’s financial statements and supports our Finance and Investment Committee.
Kate joined ECF in October 2016 having previously worked for a top PR agency in London. She works on all aspects of the Foundation's promotion, marketing and events helping to increase the profile of ECF across the county.
Diana joined the team in 2014 following a successful career at HSBC. She brought with her a wealth of administrative and customer service skills and is an extremely valued member of the team.
Jill’s experience of working within the voluntary sector for many years has greatly benefited ECF in her role as grants officer. Jill is always willing to discuss potential grant applications and regularly attends funding workshops and presentations around the county to talk about our grant programmes.
Lisa joined us in September 2016. She has a strong administrative background and supports the grants team processing applications and managing the Foundation's grant data.
Paul joined ECF in November 2016. He has worked at a strategic level, supporting Essex communities through the development of partnerships and collaborative solutions, for the last decade. He heads up the grants team and is responsible for identifying, assessing, approving, monitoring and evaluating grants as well as increasing the Foundation's profile.
Tracy, who joined us on March 2015, worked in credit control before taking a career break to bring up her family. She recently re-trained and, working with Catherine Burton, Head of Finance, is responsible for managing ECF’s financial activities.
Steve works with the team to identify new opportunities and relationships for ECF and provides a professional, bespoke service to our fundholders. He has effectively developed our ICT systems and has supported the national development of a central, online database for community foundations.
Jo is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of ECF’s work are effectively communicated to a wide audience, across different media. She works directly with our fundholders and grant recipients to publicise their work across the County and produces our annual review and manages all of the Foundation’s events.
Fran works across all areas of the grants team, advising applicants, assessing funding applications, working with fundholders and leads on the development of our information management systems. Fran attends funding workshops and county wide events to promote the work of ECF.
Andrew joined the Foundation as a volunteer grants assessor in 2000 having taken early retirement following a long and successful career with Barclays Bank. He is a hugely valued member of the team, supporting all aspects of the Foundation’s work and has particular expertise in managing special projects and large capital grants.
Lorraine joined ECF as a volunteer in early 2017. Her enthusiasm for the work of the Foundation is what drew her to the role and she has quickly become a vital member of the team.
Barbara has volunteered with ECF since 2005 and supports the Grants Team with application assessments and monitoring and evaluation. Barbara is a retired Chartered Accountant and brings a wealth of financial knowledge and experience to the team.
Antony joined the Foundation in early 2010 as a volunteer and supports the Grants Team with application assessments and monitoring and evaluation. Antony is a retired banker who worked internationally, he brings a wealth of financial knowledge and experience to the team.
