Basildon Womens Aid - works with women and their families who have been the victims of domestic violence. In this clip, Kathy, a former client talks passionately about her personal experience of an abusive relationship and the great help that the Womens Aid service provided.
CALM Centre/Community Self Build - Linda Swanton was a client of the CALM (Counselling and Life Management) centre. In this clip she talks candidly about the help they provided after her life was devastated by Rheumatoid Artritis.
London Bus Theatre Company - This innovative project provides drama workshops, resource packs, training days and videos on drugs awareness, domestic violence and bullying for young people of all ages. There are two fascinating clips. Sonny and Josh speak about how the Project has helped them and Chris Turner from the Theatre Company talks about why he is proud to be associated with Essex Community Foundation
Grassroots Grants
Stock Cares - Terry Monaghan talks about the service that Stock Cares provides to elderly and disabled residents of Stock and the help that the Grassroots Grant will provide.
YESS (Yoga Educational Support Society) - This group provides Yoga Classes and Educational support to young people. They have had huge success with young children with special needs, giving remarkable results in relation to behavioural problems.
Peter Blanc of Oval Insurance Brokers - Peter created the FMW Community Fund in 2007 (Now the Oval Community Fund)and talks here about the value to his business and the benefits of engaging the staff in the decision making processes.
