Essex Charities Rewarded (28 Mar 2007)

Chairman of Essex County Council, Cllr Gerard McEwen has praised CHESS and Women’s Aid for their work supporting vulnerable people in Chelmsford

At an annual awards ceremony, CHESS and Women’s Aid were among 25 local charities in Essex which received cheques totalling £65,781, to help fund the work they do in their local community. 
 
The event was held at the Essex Record Office in Chelmsford on 19 March.

High Sheriff Rewards Voluntary and Community Activities (9 Mar 2007)

Essex County Neighbourhood Watch were among 32 charities and individuals to receive awards from the High Sheriff of Essex Christopher Stewart-Smith. Certificates and grants totalling £13,260 were awarded to fund projects and recognise the work being undertaken by local people who are helping to make Essex communities safer from crime.
