Baking to Support Local Charities

Baking and selling home made cakes is just one of the regular fundraising initiatives organised by staff at the Chelmsford based accountants to support the Baker Tilly Charitable Fund.
Members of the Baker Tilly team regularly take it in turns to bake and sell cakes to raise money for their corporate Fund. This month was the turn of accountant, Kerry Bradd who, with the help of her two young children, made blueberry lime drizzle cake, chocolate brownies and chocolate crispy cakes. Thanks to Kerry’s efforts a further £25 was raised for the Fund.
"Everyone has been really supportive and it has given us a real focus for our charitable giving"
Sandra Crouch from Baker Tilly said “We established the Charitable Fund so that, as a firm, we could all be involved in activities to raise money for local charities. Everyone has been really supportive and it has given us a real focus for our charitable giving, but the cake days are not so good for our waistlines!” She added, “Working with ECF means that we can draw on their expertise to learn about local issues and distribute the money from our Fund to where it is needed most.”
Since the Fund was established, the team at Baker Tilly have raised nearly £12,000 for their Charitable Fund, through donations and initiatives including a Spring Ball, race nights and a sponsored silence. Baker Tilly as a firm runs a match funding scheme that has significantly enhanced the team’s efforts. Some staff have also taken advantage of Payroll Giving which enables them to make donations to the Fund direct from their gross salaries.
