"We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give."Sir Winston Churchill
There are many ways to give to ECF. We accept donations of any value and there are various tax incentives which can make your charitable giving even more attractive.
Single donations: One-off or single donations are pooled into our endowed Acorn Fund. You can give confidently in the knowledge that your donation will stay local and will provide much-needed funding, year on year, to local voluntary and community organisations. To make a donation click here.
Named Fund: Established in the name of an individual, family or company. This can be a flowthrough fund, an endowed fund or a combination of both.
Flowthrough Fund: A Fund where monies are deposited, but not invested and distributed as grants within a defined period of time, often annually.
Endowed Fund: A Fund which forms part of ECF’s investment portfolio. A percentage of the fund value is distributed in grants annually year on year. ECF’s investment managers take a longterm approach to investing and growing the value of our funds over time.
Leave a Legacy: ECF offers a simple way for people to leave a legacy to the local community in which they have lived or worked for many years. Our commitment to build a multi-purpose endowment to support local charitable activity means that we will be around to receive a legacy and to fulfil the charitable wishes of the donor in perpetuity.
Gifts of Shares, Land and Buildings: ECF can accept these types of gifts, which are also eligible for tax relief. Please call us on 01245 355947 to discuss how to make a gift of this nature.
Become a Member: ECF welcomes individuals, companies, public agencies and voluntary organisations as new Members. By making an annual subscription Members are supporting ECF and its work to meet the needs of local communities.
Payroll Giving: A convenient way for employees to make contributions through their salary on a regular basis. Donations are taken directly from the source of the donor's income and employers deduct the specified amount before tax.
Be a sponsor: If your company would like to sponsor a particular aspect of our work, a reception, our AGM, our Annual Review or a publication, please call the head of communications, Jo Murphy, on 01245 355947.
ECF is flexible in its approach and would be happy to discuss your charitable wishes with you, no matter what your level of giving. Please call Jo Murphy, head of communications or Steve Mackenzie, development officer on 01245 355947 who will be happy to speak with you.
