Application guidelines

Funds inviting applications

General Rolling Programme

Essex Community Foundation accepts applications at any time and can support many aspects of your work including: running costs, salary costs, capital equipment or specific project costs. You can apply to the general Funds at any time throughout the year, meaning there is not a specific deadline for you to access this funding. These grants can support one-off or continuing work and you can apply up to £10,000 (over one year) by using the online application form. To access this, click here.

 

We are currently inviting applications to the following funds:

Youth Social Action Fund supports voluntary and community organisations in the Harlow, Epping Forest and Uttlesford Districts who offer activities which seek to engage young people in their community and increase their learning and understanding of local issues. Applications are accepted throughout the year. This Fund has specific criteria and its own application form which can be found here.

Funds with deadlines in September:

Tackling Loneliness Fund awards grants of  up to £2,500 to support charities, voluntary and community groups who are addressing loneliness in the districts of Colchester and Tendring. Firebird Fund supports people with mental health issues in Southend and South-East Essex. Organisations need to submit applications by 22 September using ECF’s application process here. The Panel also supports, and will give priority to, small requests from individuals for respite breaks, training and experiences which they would struggle to access without financial support. A specific form is required so please call us to discuss how an individual may apply, preferably using the help of a relevant support organisation. Decisions will be announced by mid-October.

Harlow Recreation Trust awards grants up to £10,000 to support charitable projects undertaken by voluntary and community organisations that support the development of recreational skills, knowledge and talent for the benefit of people living in Harlow. Please submit applications by 22 September using ECF’s application process here. Decisions will be announced by mid-October.

Healthwatch Essex Fund supports voluntary groups and local charities working to improve information, advice and guidance in health and social care. There are two levels of grants - small grants of up to £10,000 and larger grants of up to £35,000. The deadline date for applications is 22 September. To read the specific criteria for this Fund and to apply, click here

Middlewick Farm Community Benefit Fund supports voluntary and community organisations to improve the lives of local people living in Dengie and the general Maldon District. Applications for grants up to £10,000 are invited until 25 September with decisions in October. Please use ECF's application process here.

 

Funds with deadlines in October:

Bradwell Wind Farm Community Fund supports community projects in Bradwell-on Sea and Tillingham. Applications for grants up to £10,000 are invited until 13 October with decisions in November. Please use ECF's application process here

Provide Foundation awards grants of up to £5,000 to improve and increase access to community health projects and services in Essex. Applications are invited until 20 October. Please click here for the Fund's specific guidelines and application process. 

Comic Relief Core Strength - Local Communities provides grants between £1,000 to £10,000 for groups’ core costs - meaning expenditure that is not connected to delivering projects but focusing on investing in the organisation as a whole, such as basic running costs. The deadline is 31 October and decisions will be made in December. For more information and to complete the programmes specific application form, click here

Essex & Suffolk Water Community Fund awards grants of up to £5,000 to support charitable activity in communities which are supplied by Essex & Suffolk Water. Projects must be related to either health and well-being, community support or the environment. The deadline for grant applications is 31 October. Please use ECF's application process here.
