Essex Community Foundation offers a simple, cost effective and efficient way for your clients who want to put something back into their community, whilst removing the burden of administration that is usually associated with establishing a charitable trust.
The following service can be offered to your clients, and can be tailor-made to ensure that the wishes of your client remain paramount. We would be delighted if you and your client want you to remain informed on the grant making activities of the fund.
- By establishing a named endowed fund, your client's gift will last forever and can commemorate a friend or relative.
- A non-bureaucratic process to establish a fund - it is easy and quick, with no expensive legal procedures to go through. Our administration charges are low - on a sliding scale between1% - 2% per annum depending upon the size of the fund.
- Professional management of our investments that consistently out-perform defined benchmarks.
- Advice on the most tax efficient way to give. As a charity we can reclaim Gift Aid and gifts to us are exempt from inheritance tax.
- A guarantee that your client's gift will be used in accordance with their wishes in perpetuity. We support projects that are charitable, educational or benevolent in nature. We use our proven expertise in grant assessment and our in-depth knowledge of local needs to help clients develop criteria and fund projects through making grants. We therefore can target gifts very accurately. Clients can have complete choice over which project they fund, or leave that decision to the Foundation. They may wish their involvement to change over the years and their wishes can be accommodated. Our expertise is rooted locally in Essex but we are also able to fulfill any commitments that your clients may have with designated charities elsewhere.
- Your client will receive 6 monthly reports on the state of their fund, detailing all transactions of income and grants awards. We provide regular updates on the work of Essex Community Foundation and our grant making programmes.
- We can arrange for supporters to visit projects that they have funded.
