Thousands of people travelled to Burnham-on-Crouch over the bank holiday weekend to enjoy the sunshine and activities at the annual Burnham Quay Day.
The pirate-themed day included free activities and events for all ages. Stalls offering crafts entertainment and food were available alongside paddle-boarding demonstrations, children’s rides, fancy-dress competitions and much more. Live music covering all genres was also played throughout the day.
Local Town Councillor for Tourism, Fiona Clegg, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying the Quay Day. Events like this bring communities together and, importantly, support local tourism and businesses by highlighting what the town has to offer.
“We are so incredibly grateful to Essex Community Foundation who awarded us a grant of £900 from the Turncole Wind Farm Community Fund to help provide the children’s entertainment and arrange a WW1 flypast.
“This was the best Quay Day yet and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved for making the day such a resounding success. We are already excited for next year!”
