20 Essex Community Foundation Annual Review 2024Thanking our supportersOrganising and participating in events is a fun way to add to our charitable funds and here are some of the events that have taken place over the past year. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to funds we manage, or supported activities and events organised by others. Charlie%u2019s Champions have been busy again this year, raising money for the Charlie Watkins Foundation. Events included a special Christmas Concert held at Lavenham Church, a Headstrong podcast with Alistair Campbell, a cricket match, Walk and Talk event, golf day and a cycle ride from the North of Portugal to the Algarve. Basildon Parents4ParentsAn opportunity to hear Rik Wakeman,the legendary keyboardist, composer, and raconteur perform live in Billericay sold out within 28 hours! The event, in aid of the Essex Music Fund, saw Rick perform some of his vast and varied work, as well as hearing his views on the importance of music in education.The Seniors section at Burnham on Crouch Golf Club were pleased to raise money for the Essex Heart Fund during the club%u2019s Centenary year. The fund is helping to provide care to people who have suffered cardiac issues in Essex and conduct research that they will benefit from.
