We marked our 30th anniversary with a special Golf Day, bringing together supporters, fundholders, ambassadors and local businesses for a memorable day of golf, connection and giving.
Hosted by ECF and generously sponsored by Rathbones, the event took place on 21 May at The Warren Estate in Maldon. The day welcomed 64 players across 16 teams, who came together to celebrate three decades of community impact made possible by our supporters. The event was also supported by Forward Corporate Finance, who kindly sponsored the ‘Beat the Pro’ hole.
Following a warm welcome speech from ECF Trustee Tim Field, players headed out onto the 18-hole course for a day of friendly competition, challenges and prizes before coming together afterwards to enjoy a BBQ and celebrate the day.
Perry Norton, Head of Development at ECF, said:
“It was fantastic to bring together so many of our supporters to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The generosity shown by our fundholders, corporate partners and friends over the last three decades has helped create lasting change for communities across Essex.
Events like our Golf Day are a wonderful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together to support local causes. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us, donated, and helped make the day such a success.”
As part of the day, the overall winning team were given the opportunity to continue the spirit of giving by choosing a charity to receive a £500 donation.
Congratulations to Ellisons, who finished in first place, with Spartan FX taking second and Knights finishing third.
Ellisons chose to donate their £500 prize to Comfort Cases UK, a charity supporting children entering care, moving foster placements or leaving the care system.
The donation will help Comfort Cases UK provide children across Essex with their own item of luggage filled with essential items, ensuring no child has to carry their belongings in a bin bag and helping to provide dignity and comfort during a difficult time of transition.
Thanks to the support of everyone involved, the Golf Day has already raised over £2,000 to help us continue supporting charities and voluntary organisations making a difference across Essex.
A huge thank you goes to Rathbones, Forward Corporate Finance, and everyone who attended, donated and supported the day. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey over the past 30 years.
