Since 1996 we have worked hard to develop the community foundation and support the charitable sector in Essex. We want to create a culture of generosity and inspire charitable giving to provide vital funding to voluntary organisations working at the heart of our communities.

On average, we give financial support to over 500 voluntary organisations each year that are meeting the needs of their communities and making a real difference for local people.

Vacancies

Trustees help to shape our work now and in the future. This is a voluntary, unpaid position, however, expenses are covered.

We currently have an open call out for new Trustees. We want to recruit people who live or work in Essex, Southend or Thurrock and we are particularly interested to hear from anyone with experience in the following areas:

• grantmaking – an understanding of practices and principles.
• Charity – working or volunteering within a community organisation or experience of developing policy to inform campaigns.
• Finance – either charity investments, accountancy or business management.
